Trash & Yard
Trash pickupMondays & Thursdays, curb by 8 a.m. ▶
City Sanitation picks up trash on Mondays and Thursdays (holidays push pickup back). Have trash on the curb by 8:00 a.m., bagged, and in a can with a locking lid so animals can't get into it.
Leaves and limbs are picked up on all other days. Bag your leaves, and keep limbs to 3 to 4 feet or shorter.

StreetsKeep clippings out of the street. ▶
Please don't blow grass into the street when you mow. Keep the street in front of your home clear of grass trimmings, leaves, and debris so the streets can drain properly.
Grass & weedsKeep vegetation under 10 inches. ▶
Weeds or vegetation higher than 10 inches is prohibited. Keep your grass mowed and your shrubs and trees trimmed regularly so our neighborhood stays clean, attractive, and free of nuisances.
Permits

Burning is only allowed with a permit on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, except during burn bans. Get a permit by calling City Hall or any of the firemen below:

Building permitsNeeded for carports, sheds, fences, additions. ▶
Building permits are required for installing metal carports, storage buildings, fences, and any addition to the outside of your home. Pick up an application at City Hall. Applications are approved by the city council at the monthly meetings.
Rules & Safety
Speed limit25 mph on all city streets. ▶
All drivers must obey the posted speed limit of 25 mph on city streets.
NoiseQuiet hours 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every day. ▶
Quiet hours are 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, every day. During these hours, any loud, unnecessary, or unusual noise that annoys, disturbs, or endangers others within the city limits is prohibited. To report a loud noise complaint, call the Ouachita County Sheriff's Department at (870) 231-5300 (press 1 for dispatch). Violators will be prosecuted.
Junked & unlicensed vehiclesNot allowed on any property. ▶
Residents may not keep, maintain, or store a junked, wrecked, inoperable, abandoned, or unlicensed vehicle, old furniture, refrigerators, or other major appliances on private or public property inside the city limits.
FireworksBaseball field, holidays only. ▶
Fireworks may only be shot at the baseball field across from the fire station, on holidays only (except during burn bans). The city website posts the times fireworks are allowed. Fireworks are prohibited everywhere else inside the city limits.
Community
City council meetings3rd Thursday each month, 7 p.m. ▶
City Council meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the old city hall building next to the fire station. The November and December meetings move because of the holidays.
Park pavilionReserve through City Hall. ▶
Reserve the pavilion at the city park for parties or events by calling City Hall at (870) 574-2900. A $10.00 deposit is charged if electricity is used.
Annual city-wide garage saleFirst Saturday in May, every year since 2010. ▶
East Camden's City-Wide Garage Sale happens the first Saturday in May, an annual tradition since 2010. It's a chance to clean out and sell from your home. Non-residents can rent outdoor spaces too.
A listing of all sales is available at the East Camden Fire Station at 7:45 a.m. the day of the sale. Lunch plates, a bake sale, and cold drinks are sold at the station, with all proceeds benefiting the East Camden Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Residents register their sale for free by calling City Hall at (870) 574-2900. Come shop the sales and support our volunteer fire department!

Animals
Dogs per householdMaximum of four (4). ▶
Households may keep a maximum of four (4) dogs.
Potentially dangerous breedsSpecial permit required. ▶
This includes pit bulls, Staffordshire terriers, American Staffordshire terriers, and any mixed breed with these primary characteristics. These breeds are only allowed in the city limits under special regulations and permits, and owners must meet conditions in the city's animal ordinance. Contact City Hall right away for a copy of the ordinance, since certain guidelines and restrictions apply.
LivestockNot permitted in the city. ▶
Livestock animals are not allowed. This includes chickens, rabbits, goats, horses, mules, mares, colts, jacks or jennies, swine of any kind, sheep, and cattle.
Dog at largeHeld 5 days. $25/day board. ▶
Dogs impounded in the city dog pound are held for 5 business days before being adopted out. Owners are charged a boarding rate of $25 per day, paid before reclaiming the dog.
Annual dog registration$2.50 a year, rabies proof required. ▶
Every dog in the city limits must be registered each year. Registration is $2.50 and includes a tag. Proof of rabies vaccination is required when you register each year. Contact City Hall for a registration form.
